Duane R. Longbrake, Sr., 68, of Bristol, died November 15, 2010 at 4:55 pm in the emergency room of Elkhart General Hospital. He was born June 7, 1942 in Elkhart to the late Roscoe and Kathryn (Detwiler) Longbrake. On June 24, 1967 he married Johanna E. Krahn in Bristol.
She survives with son Duane R. (Colleen) Longbrake, Jr. of Michigan City; daughter Michelle (Carlos) Portillo of Geneva, IL; son William A. (Amber) Longbrake of Goshen; 15 grandchildren and a brother Roger A. (Julia) Longbrake of Middlebury.
He retired from Bristol Products as an industrial maintenance worker. He attended Grace Bible Church and served in the US Army during the Panama Conflict. He liked to fish, read and hunt, and enjoyed Notre Dame sports.
Services will be held Friday at 1:00 pm with visitation 2 hours prior at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Pastor Mike Fisher will officiate. Burial will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery, Bristol.
