DuWayne R. Cole

DuWayne Rex Cole, 62, passed on to be with his Lord and Savior at 11:07 A.M. Monday Dec. 27, 2010 at Elkhart General Hospital after a long battle with heart and lung disease. He was born November 11, 1948 in Mishawaka, IN. to the late Harold and Beatrice (Unruh) Cole.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachael Ramirez of Elkhart; a brother, Harold of South Bend; four sisters, Louise Zellers of North Liberty, IN., Gladys (Erv) Gerschoffer of Stevensville, MI., Patricia (Gene) Levan of South Bend, IN. and Thelma (Frank) Zappia of Mishawaka, IN., one sister-in-law, Sharon Cole of Mishawaka, IN., and a close family friend, Tara Stoner of Middlebury, IN.
Preceding him in death are five brothers; infant Phillip, Lyle, Floyd, Stanley and Delbert; two sisters, Doris Boettcher and Gertrude Clyburn.
Friends may call two hours prior to the 1:00 P.M. Tuesday funeral service at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Pastor Scott Tilley of River Oaks Community Church will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
DuWayne worked for Crown International for many years. He was a member of the River Oaks Community Church in Elkhart where he had many wonderful, caring and helpful friends. He enjoyed gardening, antique collecting and playing cards. He will be missed by all family members and friends. Memorial contributions may be given to the family who will select a charity according to his wishes.
