Dzidra Kalass, 85, of Bristol, passed away September 1, 2011 at 1:25 pm at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born October 17, 1925 in Riga, Latvia. Her parents were Evalds and Vilhelmine Berzins. She married Rudolfs Kalass in Germany on March 1, 1947.
Her husband Rudolfs survives along with a daughter Ilze Gilkey of Elkhart; a son Imants Kalass of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren Mike (Christy) Kalass, John (Brandi) Gilkey, and Shelly (Chris) Kluesner; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister Biruta Everts of Shipshewana.
Mrs. Kalass was a homemaker and member of the Bristol United Methodist Church for 63 years. She enjoyed her home, her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1 pm at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol, with Rev. Fred Stayton officiating. Memorials may be given to Bristol United Methodist Church.
