Earl Robert Congdon

Earl Robert Congdon, 93, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday November 5, 2024 at his home, with his family by his side. He was born May 31, 1931 to Loren A. and Doris Congdon, Sr. in Bristol, IN.

Earl graduated from Bristol High School Class of 1949 and from Purdue University in 1953 with a degree in Pharmacy. On January 25, 1953 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bristol he married Ann Godshalk. He honorably served his county in the United States Army Medical Corps from 1953 to 1955. He was a pharmacist and owned Congdon Village Pharmacy in Bristol that was a family business for over 100 years. He enjoyed woodworking and building floats for the Bristol Homecoming Parade. He was a member of George Washington Masonic Lodge, a 32-degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Miata Club. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially out on his boat.

Surviving Earl are his wife of 71 years, Ann, sons; Lee Allan (Katherine Bissell) Congdon of Georgetown, DC, Chris Robert (Pamela) Congdon of Bristol, IN., Eric (Sutanto Widjaja) Congdon of Larkspur, CA, 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann (Billy) Gallagher, Emily Rae (Tony) Hanstra, Sarah Ryan Congdon and Madeline Ruth Congdon, a sister Mary Ann (Roger) Malchow of Adair, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Loren A. Congdon, Jr.

Funeral services will be at 10am Friday November 8, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, 20943 County Road 6, Bristol, IN 46507. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery by the church. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the Congdon family. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
