Edward M. Halvorson

Edward M. Halvorson, 57 of Elkhart, passed away December 18, 2013 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born September 7, 1956 in New Hampton, Iowa to Merle and Joan (Ehler) Halvorson. He married Lorna M. Ward on July 23, 1996. She survives along with 4 daughters, Pricilla (Joey) Svendsen and Krystal Halvorson of Charleston, SC and Michelle (Jory) Dyvig of Webster City, IA and Stacy Halverson of Elkhart and a son, Eric (Heather) Halverson of Scranton, IA; 14 grandchildren, Rosa, Gwenny, William, Joshua Waylon, Madison, Zachary, Braylon, August, Neysa, Kylie, Zoey, Jamisen, Jaden and Isabella; 5 brothers, Gary (Pat) Halvorson of Alta Vista, IA, Jeff Halvorson, Paul Halvorson and Bruce (Julia) Halvorson all of New Hampton, IA, and Peter (Leanne) Halvorson of Cedar Rapids, IA; 2 sisters, Shelly (Wayne) Gray of New Hampton, IA and Sandy (Dean) Reicks of Lawler, IA and his mother, Joan Halvorson of New Hampton, IA and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Merle.

Ed was the director of sales and product development for Global Link in Elkhart. He loved NASCAR, cards, golfing, music and football.

Visitation will be Friday, December 20th from 4-7 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral & Cremation Center where a memorial service will be held at 7 pm. Pastor Joey Svendsen, his son-in-law, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa.
