Edward B. Ogle, 82, of Elkhart, died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 4:50 pm at Riverside Village in Elkhart. He was born September 12, 1927 in Boston, Ohio to Boyd and Edna (Cripe) Ogle. On November 2, 1946 he married Cyrilla K. Taylor in Syracuse, NY.

She survives along with 2 daughters Gail (Rand) Nilsson of Camano Island, WA; Vickie (Philip) Miller of Elkhart; a son James Ogle of Nappanee; 2 grandchildren; and a sister Janet (Dick) VanVoorhis of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Samantha Ogle.

Mr. Ogle had been a packing and warehouse manager, retiring from Whitehall Laboratories, Inc. after 31 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church and the Elkhart Moose Lodge. He loved golf and played often at the Four Lakes Country Club where he was a member. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean War.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 -7 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart. Friends may also call a half hour prior to the 10:30 am service on Tuesday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 405 W. Beardsley Ave. Elkhart. Dr. William Hemmig will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
