Ellsworth “Skip” Beers, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday April 29 at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1932 in Hillsdale, MI to Robert H. and Celia (Linebrink) Beers.
On Dec. 20, 1974 in Elkhart he married Rosa Lehner who survives along with a son Kevin D. Beers of Elkhart, and 2 brothers, Robert and Lyle (Martha) Beers both of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Doris Wolgamood and 2 brothers: Dale and Lewis Beers.
Ellsworth served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired as a machinist for Miles Laboratories after 27 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the Fairview Grange. He enjoyed bowling and camping.
Friends may call from 3-5 pm Thursday, May 1st at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and a half hour prior to the service on Friday, May 2nd at 11 am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Pastor Tom DeFries will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
