Ellsworth R. Wert

Ellsworth R. Wert, 86, of Elkhart, passed away August 2, 2008 at Woodland Manor, Elkhart.

He was born October 3, 1921 in Kendallville, Indiana and married Emma Eby on June 29, 1946 in Middlebury. She survives him.

Mr. Wert retired from Miles Laboratories, Inc., in 1982. He was a volunteer for the Porter Township Fire Department from 1969-1996. He was a charter member of Winding Waters Brethren Church, member of Coverdale/Long Lake Association and enjoyed fishing, hunting and crafts. He served in the U.S. Army-Air Corps in world war II.

Friends may call 2 hours prior to the 1:00 pm service on Wednesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Turskey will officiate. Burial will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Military graveside honors will be rendered by the DAV # 19.
