Eric H.J. Stahlhut

Eric H. J. Stahlhut, 48 of Elkhart, died on Monday, June 9, 2014 in Angola, Indiana.
He was born on October 20, 1965. Eric was a graduate of Bowdoin College and Georgetown University Law Center, with a law degree from St. Louis University. He was a lawyer at Barnes & Thornburg and was recently selected for inclusion for the fourth consecutive year in the Best Lawyers in America.

In addition, Eric was a frequent presenter and lecturer on labor and employment issues to many local chambers of commerce, industrial guilds, the Indiana State Bar Association and for several other local and national organizations. He was a board member and the membership director for the Michiana Human Resource Association.

Among his colleagues, clients and friends, Eric was deeply admired for his professionalism, gentlemanly character, courtesy, and friendly attitude. Eric was an avid Detroit Red Wings hockey fan, and traveled to Detroit regularly to see them play.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2715 East Jackson Boulevard, Elkhart, Indiana. Rev. Karen Bray will officiate. Interment of his remains will take place at a later date.
