Eugene D. Swartz

Eugene Dale Swartz, 84, of Bristol died Wednesday at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1927 in Elkhart to Edwin L. and Caroline (Lehman) Swartz.

On Sept. 11, 1948 he married Dorothy L. Conover who survives along with two daughters: Judy Ann (Jon) Mater of Middlebury and Carol Jean (Bob) Becktell of Newark, OH; two sons: Steven E. (Mary) Swartz and Dennis L. (Kathy) Swartz both of Bristol; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Carol Lynn Swartz, a brother Carl E. Swartz and a grandson Mason E. Swartz.

Eugene worked for Labour Pump Co. as a salesman for 33 years. He was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 143 in Bristol. He was past President of the Bristol Town Board and past President of Bristol PTA. He served as the Chairman of the Building Committee for Bristol United Methodist Church and also served in the US Army.

Services will be held at 1pm Friday September 23 at Bristol United Methodist Church where friends may call from 10am to 1pm. Burial will follow the services at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol.
