Evelyn D. Artley

Evelyn D. Artley, 91 of Elkhart, Indiana died May 15, 2010 @ 12:45 A.M. at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on October 18, 1918 to Percie Ray and Mary E. (Ulrey) Drudge. She married Eugene DeWayne Artley on April 9, 1944 in Elkhart. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1989.

Surviving are a son, Richard C. (Dorothy) Artley of Elkhart; four daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Neely, Janice Alwine, Mary (Daniel) Dull and Nancy Albaugh all of Elkhart; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 5 Great Great Grandchildren and a brother, Frank E. (Helen) Drudge of Warsaw, Ind.
She was preceded in death by a son,Harold D. Bryarly, 4 brothers, Edward, Charles, Harold and John; 2 sisters Maxine and Dorothy, 2 Granddaughters and 1 Great Great Grandson.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 Wednesday at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart where services will be held at 11 AM Thursday. Pastor Catherine Koziatek of Bethel United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Artley was a janitor at Miller Theatres in Elkhart for 28 years retiring in 1990. She also worked part time at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Elkhart.
