Fay Jean Filbert

Fay Jean Filbert, 90, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday Apr. 24, 2016 at Hospice House of Elkhart.
She was born June 30, 1925 in Elkhart to Clem F. and Marjorie A. (Sumpter) McGary. She married William C. Filbert in 1942. He preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Rickie Filbert of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren, Shawn, Shelly and Brooke; 6 great-grandchildren;2 great-great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Shirley Bauchman of Elkhart and Zelda Wildenauer of South Bend. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kidder and a brother, Warren McGary.
Fay retired after many years from Plumrose Meat Packing Co. where she worked in production. She was a life member of the VFW #95 Ladies Auxiliary Goshen and DAV #15 Auxiliary, Goshen. She also was a member of the Women of The Moose, Elkhart and the Bristol American Legion Auxiliary.
Services will be at 12 PM Thursday, April 28th at the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where friends may visit with the family from 10 AM to 12 PM. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
