Faye L. Innes

September 20, 1931 — December 17, 2008

Faye L. Innes, 77, of Bristol, Indiana, passed away December 17, 2008 at Elkhart General Hospital after a sudden illness.

She was born September 20, 1931 in Laurium, Michigan to George Drury and Edna M. Olsen Drury. She married John D. Innes on January 20, 1951 in Berkley, MI. He survives along with 2 sons, John O. (Terri) Innes of Grant, Ala. and Craig A. (Nita) Innes of Milford, IN; 2 daughters, Candice (Claude) Daily of New Baltimore, MI and Melodie (Don) Halvorsen of Bristol, IN; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a brother, Ron Perkins of Hazel Park, MI. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Easton.

Mrs. Innes retired from Glen’s Market in Gaylord, MI as general merchandise manager and was currently Site director for Real Services at Bristol United Methodist Church. She was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church and served on the Missions committee. She was the coordinator for blood drives for the South Bend Medical Foundation and was former coordinator for the American Red Cross, getting GIs home during the Vietnam era. She started the blanket drive at Bristol United Methodist Church. Blankets were given to the Bashor Home, Women’s shelter and Faith Mission for Christmas 2008.

Friends may call from 4-8 pm Friday at Bristol United Methodist Church, 201 S. Division St. Bristol, and an hour prior to the 2:00 pm service on Saturday at the church. Reverend Fred Stayton will officiate. Cremation will follow services with burial to occur at a later date in Luzerne, MI.

In lieu of flowers, blankets may be donated in Faye’s memory to be distributed throughout the community.
