Fern P. Achberger

Fern P. Achberger, 100, of New Castle, IN formerly of Elkhart died at 7am Thursday (July 1, 2010) in Stonebrooke Rehabilitation in New Castle.
Fern was born October 13, 1909 in Fulton Co., IN to Elmer and Frances (Rodabaugh) Coplen.
On July 20, 1946 in Angola, IN, she married Max C. Achberger who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1978. Also preceding her were her parents, a son Clarence and a sister Grace Filson.

Surviving Fern are several nieces and nephews and a friend Jim Bunner of Springport, IN.
Fern retired from CTS Corp. in 1967 were she had worked as an assembler.

A Graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday (July 7) in Rice Cemetery with Rev. Larry Kurtz presiding. Friends may call from 11 to Noon Wednesday in the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral home 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart followed by a procession to the cemetery.
