Florence Forry

Florence E. Forry, 98 of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 at Greenleaf Health Campus.

She was born June 18, 1919 in Elkhart to William G. and Pearl (Storms) Wright. She married Richard D. Forry on Sept. 1, 1940 at Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving are 2 daughters, Diane (Jack) Cronk of St. Joseph, MI and Judith Wuthrich of Port Orange, FL; a special daughter, Elli Strukel of Elkhart; 2 grandsons and 4 great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Richard, a grandson, Eric Cronk, a great-granddaughter, Lexie Cronk, a brother, Samuel Wright and a sister, Laura Johnson.

Florence graduated from Elkhart High School in 1938 and worked as a bookkeeper for the Elkhart Credit Bureau and Osolo Township Assessor’s Office. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the Women’s Circle. She was a member of the D.A.R. and loved to play cards, especially bridge.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11 am Saturday, Oct. 7th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Pastor Tom DeFries will officiate. Burial will take place at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
