Frank Reynolds Booth II age 78 of Goshen, passed away on December 28, 2016 at the Elkhart Hospice House.
He was born October 11, 1938 in Elkhart to Frank Booth I (DVM) and Leonore (Mitchell) Booth. He married Sharon K. Foust on August 13, 1961. He was preceded in death by his infant son Alan Booth, brother Martin Booth, and his wife Sharon Booth. He is survived by 2 daughters: Laura (Ted) Hou and granddaughters Amy and Sara Hou. Second daughter Lisa (Curtis) Aschenbrenner and grandson Franklin Aschenbrenner; Nephew, Kim (Angela) Booth and their daughters, Alyssia and Kristina.
He graduated from Concord High School in 1956. He has been an avid booster supporter of both the Athletic and Music department since his graduation. He served as volunteer announcer for the Concord Marching Band at several competitions and appearances.
He married wife Sharon prior to his senior year in college. After graduating with a B.S. degree in accounting from Indiana University in 1962 he held a variety of positions: Simpson Medical Clinic Administrator, Accountant for McGladrey, Hansen, and Dunn, Manager of Service Masters, and owner of Wagner’s truck repair after being hired as a bookkeeper 6 months earlier. He retired from American Way Marketing after serving as their production manager for 15 years.
He is best known for his 25 plus years associated with the Concord Little League. Serving as softball coach and manager (83-95) for regular season and All-Star Teams, He organized State Senior Softball Tournaments for 2 years. Vice President (77-82), President (81-84), and player agent (87-2001). There is a “Booth Field” softball diamond dedicated in Frank and Sharon’s honor for their many years of service.
He was active in the community at both the state and local levels with the Jaycees organization. He served as President (69-70), a regional V.P. (70-71), elected State Treasurer (73-74). In 1975 he was awarded JCI Senatorship #19303 the highest award in Jaycees.
He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held at Stemm -Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home in Elkhart on Thursday January 12 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 13 at 10am at Faith United Methodist Church in Goshen, where friends may call an hour prior. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart. A reception will be held at the church afterwards.
