Garreth "Gary" Ryman

Garreth “Gary” Ryman, age 79, of Bristol passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Gary was born to Nelson and Fannie Louise Ryman on July 19, 1942 in Milford, Indiana. He married the love of his life and his school sweet heart Mary Williams on October 13, 1962 at Bristol United Methodist Church.

Gary graduated from Bristol High School class of 1961. In his youth Gary worked as tool and die maker at Marksill. He served as a police officer for the Bristol Police Department and furthered his career as Bristol Town Marshall. Gary loved serving the Bristol Community. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering and fixing things in his barn. He was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Gary is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; their sons Jeff (Kristine) Ryman of Brandon, FL and David Ryman of Elkhart; grandchildren Matt Ryman, Jill (Michael) Yoder, Travis (Christine) Ryman, Maddison “Maddie” Ryman, Ian Ryman, Lucy Ryman, Alexis Ryman and Seth Ryman; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Taylor, Hailey, Erica, Emma, Christian, Vivian, Venessa, twins Sawyer and Lennox, and one on the way; his siblings Nelson (Dottie) Ryman of Florida, Mike (Eileen) Ryman of Elkhart, Lyle (Ruth ) Ryman of Miami, FL., and Gayle (Moa) Poloa of Colorado Springs, CO.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Fannie Louise Ryman and his son Eric Ryman.

A celebration of life service for Gary will be held at 1pm on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Bristol United Methodist Church, 201 South Division Street, Bristol, IN 46507 with visitation from 12-1 pm Pastor Gary Lewis will officiate.
