George J. Henrichs Jr., 80 of Bristol, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 at the Greenleaf Health Campus.
He was born Nov. 25, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisc. to George J. and Marion (York) Henrichs Sr. He is survived by Sandra J. Walker of Bristol, a son Sean M. (Amie Starkey) of Cedarville, Mich., Sally (Jeff) Boyer of Bristol, Tamra Porras of Crown Point, Robert J. Walker of Syracuse, Mark Walker of Elkhart and Randy Walker of Ft. Wayne; 3 grandchildren, Olivia Swinehart, Maddie Boyer and Brandon Porras; 1 great-grandson, Finley Swinehart and a sister, Ann (Phillip) Desjardin of Nekoosa, Wisc. and Dunnellon, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randall Kuball.
George served in the U.S. Army and retired from 20th Century Fiberglass Co. where he was in sales and in charge of environmental and safety. He was a former police officer with the Bristol Police Dept.
He was a member of Mason Baptist Church in Union, Mich., and was the founder of Budding Futures, which raised funds for Loveway and other special needs organizations. He was past president of the Black River Yacht Club in South Haven and had a strong interest in native American cultures.
Friends may visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, Dec. 8th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where a memorial service will be held at 1 pm. Pastor Tim Liechty will officiate. Inurnment will be at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol at a later date.
