George M. “Morrie” Young, 75, of Elkhart, died at 12:53 pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born July 9, 1934 in Elkhart to Elwood W. and Irene L. (Harris) Young. He married Nancy S. Clark on September 12, 1953 in Elkhart. She survives with 5 children, Jacqueline (William) Koehler of Sterling Hts, MI, Morris Jon Young of Indianapolis, IN, Moreen (Steve) Ealing of Ft. Wayne, IN, Lisa K. Randolph of Elkhart and Teresa (Chuck) McLain of Elkhart; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Lawrence (Nila) Young of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Irene Allen and Vivian Dooley and a brother, Bill Young.
Mr. Young was the owner of Insul-Kor Inc. in Elkhart for 20 years before retiring. He previously worked for 20 years at C.G. Conn Co. as a supervisor. He graduated from Elkhart High School and attended I.U.S.B. for 2 years. He attended Beulah Missionary Church, loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. His family was the most important part of his life.
Friends may call from 5-8 pm Thursday at Beulah Missionary Church, 57595 CR # 17, Goshen and an hour prior to services at 2 pm Friday. Reverend Jack McGlasson will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.
