Geraldine Ann Tuhacek

Geraldine “Geri” Tuhacek, 80, of Elkhart, died Friday October 7, 2011 at her home. She was born August 16, 1931 in Allendale, MI to Edward and Edith (Hesslinger) Zylstra and married Richard Tuhacek on March 30, 1951. He died April 9, 2007. Surviving are 4 daughters, Kim Tuhacek, Tammy (Tim) Garber, Ginger (Jim) Pontius-Jenkins and Gerilynn (Shawn) Cline all of Elkhart, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and a brother, Edward (Marlene) Zylstra Jr. of Coopersville, MI. Geri was preceded in death by 2 sons, Michael and Mark Tuhacek and a son in law, Don Pontius.

Geri was a graduate of Allendale High School and an Avon Representative.She retired from E.S.I. Meats and previously worked for Maurek’s I.G.A. She enjoyed going to the casino and liked playing cards. She loved spending time with her family.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart where a celebration of life service will be at 4 pm. Private family graveside services will take place at a later time at Rice Cemetery.
