Gerda E. Noel

Gerda E. Noel, 97, of Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday October 25, 2022 at Alamo Nursing Home, Kalamazoo. She was born February 8, 1925 in Landsberg, An der Warthe, Germany to Ernst F. and Minna T. Kobernik. She married Charles L. Noel in July of 1948 in Germany. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1989.

Gerda was an Obstetric Technician at Elkhart General Hospital for 34 years before retiring. She was a member of Zion Missionary Church in Elkhart.

Surviving are her daughters, Christine (Gary) Horne of Whitney, Texas and Deborah (John) Granger of Constantine, MI, and 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, daughter, Caroline and her husband LaRue and her half-sister.

A celebration of Gerda’s life will be from 11am to 1pm on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where a memorial service will be at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
