Gladys M. Erikson

Gladys M. Erikson, 92 of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born on July 4, 1923 on the family farm in Bondville, Illinois to Jesse L. and Viola (Foster) Keller. She married William E. Erikson on July 7, 1943. He died on March 28, 1993. Surviving are 3 daughters, Sherry (Mark) Willard, Rhonda Havlish and Dawn (Mike) Hoover all of Elkhart; a son, Col. (Ret. U.S.A.F.) William L. (Melissa) Erikson of Stafford, VA; 5 grandchildren, John Espinoza, Terran “Digger” (Jen) Havlish, Christy (Bart) Burkhart, and Caleb and Kate Erikson; 4 great-grandchildren, Savannah and Evan Havlish and Lucas and Jonathan Burkhart; 2 brothers, Don (Carol) Keller of Venice, FL and Harold (Carole) Keller of Centennial, CO. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Gladys retired as a bookkeeper and secretary for various companies in Elkhart. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer at the church. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with her family.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday, Oct. 14th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and an hour prior to the services at 11 am Thursday, Oct. 15th at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Burchill will officiate. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
