Goldie M. Gouker

Goldie M. Gouker, 101 of Elkhart, passed away Friday, Aug, 21, 2015 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Nov. 22, 1913 in Cropsey, IL to Prier L. and Susie E. (Tarter) Brantley. Surviving are 2 daughters; Ramona Thompson and Waynalene Sue Newell; 5 grandchildren; John (Nancy) Artley, Marilee (Mike) Newman, Alan Artley, Edward (Shelly) Newell, and Ramona Bracker; 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Wayne L. Etchey, Forrest G. Nusbaum and James Gouker, 2 sisters, Flossie Smith and Flora Hilbert; 2 brothers, Elmer and Virgil Brantley and 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brown) Earick and Warren A. Newell.

Goldie was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years at Elkhart General Hospital and at various nursing homes and was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Elkhart.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Monday, Aug. 24th at Rice Cemetery. Father Daniel Repp will officiate.

Memorials may be given to the Church. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
