Grady Kenneth Whitman

Kenneth “Big Daddy” Whitman, 72 of Elkhart, died at 6:30 pm Sept. 13th at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 19, 1944 in Manchester, TN to Bessie (Jones) and John Whitman. He married Carol Roberts on Oct. 31, 1963 in Elkhart. She survives along with 2 daughters, Tonya (Kevin) Stout of Franklin, TN and Wanda Ball (Mike) of Elkhart; 2 sons, Charlie (Paige) and Kenny (Beth) Whitman; 10 grandchildren, Kenny Leon, T.K., Dalton, Dustin, Clint, Hunter, Keith Ball, Gabrielle, Siarra, and Kiah Stout; 5 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Braxton, Peysyn, Bella and Addison; 1 step granddaughter, Kelsey Crandall; 2 step-great grandchildren, Aaliya and Emmit. He was preceded in death by a sister, Susie and brothers, Williard, Leon, William, and J.D.
Kenneth was the owner of Midwest Auto Locators and retired after 30 years. He also was a self-employed R.V. driver.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Saturday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 4 pm. Interment will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Fund.
