Harry B. Weldy, 87, of Venice, FL, formerly of Elkhart, passed away May 2, 2009 at his home.

He was born December 25, 1921 in Wakarusa, IN to Ray and Irma (Stauffer) Weldy. He married Mary Lou Zillmer on October 14, 1972 in Elkhart. She survives with 2 sons, Larry (Sherry) Weldy of Lusby, MD and Terry Weldy of Venice, FL; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 step children, Susan (David) Nix of Elkhart and Douglas (Kimberly) Ingersoll of Grand Rapids, MI; 5 step-grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren and a sister, Roma Wilson of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Clara Weldy, 2 brothers, Lewis and Dewey Weldy and a step-grandson, Brian Nix.

Mr. Weldy had worked at various factory jobs delivering mobile homes and RV’s throughout the country. He moved to Venice, FL in 1989 continuing his love for driving, working as a chauffer for a limo company and eventually owned and operated Top Hat Limousine Service for 9 years. He was a member of the Mennonite faith and attended Grace Community Church in Englewood, FL. He loved his family, traveling and had a passion for collecting old and new clocks and watches. His smile and hugs will be sadly missed.

A memorial service will be held Saturday June 6th at 12:00 PM at the Belmont Mennonite Church, 925 Oxford Street, Elkhart. Reverend Lewis J. Clifton will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
