Hazel A. Pickrell

Hazel A. Pickrell, 96, of Bristol, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.

She was born October 29, 1914 in Bristol to Ora and Cecile (Bratton) Ziegler and married Kenneth L. Pickrell on July 23, 1933. He died May 31, 1995. Surviving are a son, Jerry (Pat) Pickrell of Elkhart and a daughter, Jean (Dean) VanSkyHock of Bristol; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Ilene Mast and Irene Ziegler both of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Mason Swartz, 2 brothers, Marvin and Carroll Ziegler and a sister, Lois Kennedy.

Hazel was a homemaker and a member of Bristol United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Bristol. She volunteered with the Bristol Nutrition Site and was known for her sweet smile.

Services will be Monday at the Bristol United Methodist Church at 11:30 am. Friends may call from 9:30 am until the service time. Rev. Fred Stayton and Rev. Ron Spyker will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
