Helen Anne Hebb, 81, of Elkhart, died the morning of July 6, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born November 11, 1929 in Astoria Queens, NY to Charles and Anne (Rauert) O’Shea. She married Maurice “Moe” Neil Hebb in Astoria, Queens on August 20, 1952.
She is survived by her husband Moe of Elkhart, 6 daughters Anne Raymer of South Bend, Elizabeth (Randy) Sweney of Frisco, TX, Margaret Bond of Indianapolis, Marie (David) Lukas of Wheaton, IL, Kathleen Hebb of Libertyville, IL, Patricia (Daniel) Flavin of Palatine, IL; and a son Neil (Maria) Hebb of Grayslake, IL. Also, 10 grandchildren Elizabeth (Matt) Griffin, Katherine Raymer, Ray Sweney, Matthew Lukas, Rachel Lukas, Daniel Flavin, Elizabeth Flavin, Meg Hebb, Ann Hebb, Beth Hebb; and great-grandson Argus Griffin; brothers Charles O’Shea and Richard O’Shea; sisters Margaret Ferguson, Anne Cavanagh, Kathleen Donahue, Carol Yeager, Elizabeth Pfohl and Cornelia O’Shea. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Maureen Boyle and Patricia O’Shea, and a brother Francis O’Shea.
Mrs. Hebb was a housewife and artist who loved to golf and paint. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bristol and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL. She was also a member of the Elkhart Art League, Midwest Museum of American Art, and Christiana Creek Country Club.
Friends may visit the family Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart, with a vigil at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church with Reverend Bob Van Kempen officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol.
