Homer N. Warner

Homer N. Warner, 87 of Elkhart, passed away March 25, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

He was born August 16, 1925 in Elkhart to Franklin Blair and Jessie (Huston) Warner. He married Dorothy E. Kissinger on June 30, 1952 in Walkerton. She died September 5, 1995. Surviving are 4 daughters, Laura Legus of Elkhart, Christine (Robert) Yuraitis of Nicholasville, KY, Teresea (Ed) Baumann of Xenia, OH and Melanie (Mark) Evans of Florida; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister, Laura Harris of Florida and a brother, Ross Warner of Brookfield, IL. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark D. Warner and a brother, Melvin H. Warner.

Homer served in the U.S. Army and retired from Federal Paperboard Co. after 43 years. He was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church and a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church in Elkhart.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart and an hour prior to the 1 pm service on Friday at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Tim Hewitt will officiate. Burial will follow at Carleton Cemetery.
