Howard William Payton

Howard W. “Billy” Payton, 53, of Elkhart died on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 after being struck by a motor vehicle in Cass County, Michigan.

He was born Oct. 1, 1964 in Leesburg, FL to Sheila Payton Robbins. Surviving are a daughter, Kortnee Payton of Niles, MI and 2 sons, Justin Payton of Niles and Preston Payton of Florida. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Billy had worked in construction prior to becoming disabled.

The family has chosen cremation and he will be laid to rest in Statesville, NC at a later date.

Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
