Imogene McMann, 83 of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2013 at her home.
She was born September 29, 1930 in Carroll Co. Kentucky to William Luther and Nannie B. (Lewellyn) Welch. She married John Franklin McMann on June 19, 1949. He died April 23, 1994. Surviving are 4 daughters, Yvonne Youell and Patricia (Ronnie) Ottman of Edwardsburg, MI, Jacqueline (Rex) Bennett of Elkhart and LeEtta Ottman of Goshen. 3 step-sons, Allen McMann, Dale McMann and John McMann of Olympia, WA; 1 sister, Sara K. Bontrager of Elkhart; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, Loretta C. Breden, Martha Ann Garriott, Frances K. Reed, and Lenora L. Schmucker and a son-in-law, Terry L. Ottman.
Imogene was an Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed going to his concerts and other Elvis events. She was an Avon representative for many years and enjoyed bowling, going to car shows, taking trips and spending time with her family. Imogene never knew a stranger and was loved by everyone. She was a member of the Diamond Cove Missionary Church in Cassopolis, MI. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation for Imogene will be Wednesday, Oct. 2nd from 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral & Cremation Center, Elkhart and an hour prior to the 1 pm service on Thursday. Rev. Charlie Keller will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, Oct. 5th, at the Carrollton Cemetery, Carrollton, KY with Rev. Carroll (Bimp) McAlister officiating.
Memorials may be given to Diamond Cove Missionary Church.
