Jack L. Frantz, 69, of Elkhart, passed away September 13, 2008 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born October 20, 1938 in Pontiac, Illinois to John and Wanda M. (Wooten) Frantz and married Donna M. Friedman on September 12, 1958 in Bloomington, IL. His wife Donna survives along with a son, Dean Frantz of Vicksburg, MI; a daughter, Dawn (Dennis) Thompson of Elkhart; 5 grandchildren and a sister, Jean (Jon) Rupp of Elkhart.

Mr. Frantz retired in 2005 after 14 years as a truck driver for Nickell Moulding Co. in Elkhart, and previously was a journeyman pressman-compositor for the Elkhart Truth and the Daily Pantagraph in Bloomington, IL for 20 years. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and member of the Men's Group. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Friends may call from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, where services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday. Reverend Larry W. Kurtz will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive East Cemetery with the D.A.V. #19 conducting military graveside honors.

Memorials may be given to the Church of American Heart Association.
