Jacqueline “Jacque” (Bradley) Keehn, 73, wife of the late Raymond Duane Keehn, left her earthly home and entered her heavenly abode on July 2, 2014.
A native of Elkhart, Jacque was born October 1, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Louise (Sigerfoos) and Burwyn Benton Bradley. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1958.
Jacque moved to Chicago, IL immediately following graduation. It was there she met her future husband, Raymond Keehn. They were married on Oct. 10, 1959 at First Baptist Church in Elkhart by Dr. Hugh T. Hall. Raymond died Oct. 16, 1994 after 35 years of marriage.
Jacque is survived by her daughter, Heidi Jo (David Lee) Meno of Bellevue, NE and their sons, Alec (13), Andrew (9) and Austin (6) who were the light of her life and her pride and joy. Even though she had an incurable kidney disease, she lived her last 2 years for her grandboys. Also surviving are her sister, Constance (Patrick) Kennedy of Carpentersville, IL and brothers, Thomas Ross (Louise Del Dee Brock) Bradley of Harpers Ferry, WV and Lynn Burwyn (Linda Diane Yocom) Bradley of Elkhart. Also surviving are 2 nieces, Kelly Ann Kennedy (Rick Schultz) and Aubrey Lynn (Brian) Ginzer, 5 nephews; Patrick Kennedy Jr., Stacy, Bryce and Stuart Bradley and Cameron Bradley; An aunt, Elizabeth (Sigerfoos) Carlson, her mother’s sister of Elkhart. Her extended family includes all of the children she felt blessed to babysit for for several years and their families.
Jacque and Ray moved back to Elkhart in April of 1960. Her first job in Elkhart was as secretary for Attorney J. Moritz Grolimund. She then worked for the Mental Health Assn. She retired in 2007 after 12 years at the Elkhart BMV leaving behind many cherished friends.
Jacque and Ray attended Northside Baptist Church and then Sugar Grove Church for many years where they were involved in the Awana Youth Program and music programs. Jacque taught first grade Sunday School for many years. She had a loving spirit, a huge giving heart, and a steadfast faith in her Lord. She felt it her mission to feed the birds and squirrels whether at home or at the short-term extended care facility. Her new faithful, loving companion, Lexi Lou, gave her so much joy. She will be adopted by Lynn and Linda Bradley.
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 6th from 2-6 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be at 1 pm Monday, July 7th. Her brothers, Thomas and Lynn Bradley will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Jacque would appreciate donations be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society, 54687 CR# 19, Bristol, IN 46507, in loving memory of her faithful black lab, Lollipop.
