Jacqueline G. Logan

June 25, 1940 — July 30, 2011

Jacqueline “Jackie” G. Logan, 71, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday July 30, 2011
after a courageous 10 year battle with cardiomyopathy leading to heart failure. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family.

She was born June 25, 1940, in Elkhart to George and Lucille (Schram) Burton. She was only 2 years old when her father, George, died. Her mother later married Ora Nusbaum and he was the man she knew as her father.

She lived her life in Elkhart. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1958. On Nov. 22, 1959, she married Larry L. Logan. They raised 3 children and enjoyed 32 years of marriage before his death in July 1992. She is survived by her children, Lorie (Mike) Harrison, Mike (Karin) Logan and Christy (Mike) Miles; her 7 grandchildren, Nicole, Zach, Brock, Jack, Logan, Sam and Nick; her loving niece Bobbi and nephews Joe and Thair. She also leaves behind many wonderful extended family and friends. Her sisters, Sharon Sargent and Nancy Hanaway preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker for many years. She also was employed at Whitehall Laboratories, Nibco and Lerner (Elco) Theatre. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s sporting events, soaking in the warmth of the sun, painting (family joke that if it stood still long enough, she would paint it), crafts, traveling and the joys of family and friends.

Please join her family to celebrate her life. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3rd, 11am-1pm with service following at 1pm at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elkhart. Pastor Mark Dicken will officiate and burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing is assisting the family with arrangements. Visit www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com to sign an online guestbook.
