Jacquelyn M. Snellenberger

Jacquelyn M. “Jackie” Snellenberger, 74 of Elkhart, passed away September 1, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born July 11, 1940 in Elkhart to Kermit E. and Jane E. (Holmes) Scholfield. She married Richard “Dick” Snellenberger on June 23, 1962 in Elkhart. He survives with a son, Craig (Paula) Snellenberger of Greenwood, IN, a daughter, Kim Snellenberger of Elkhart, a brother, Dean (Martha) Scholfield of Elkhart and sister-in-law, Mary Beth McAdams of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jackie retired as secretary of the music department for Elkhart Community Schools after 30 years. She previously had worked in the dietary department at Elkhart General Hospital.

She graduated in 1958 from Elkhart High School and attended the University of Indianapolis for 3 years. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the Bell Choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family, road trips and wintering in Florida.

Visitation for Jackie will be Thursday, Sept. 4th from 4-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and an hour prior to services at 10:30 am Friday Sept. 5th at Faith United Methodist Church. Reverend John Hogsett will officiate. Private family burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Mishawaka.
