James L. Foster

James Foster, 80, of Goshen, passed away Wednesday March 22, 2023 at his home. He was born November 27, 1942 in Hugheston, WV to James M. and Dolly (Ransom) Foster.

On June 30, 1965 in Elkhart, he married Patty Sue McGraw.

After graduating high school, James served his country in the US Army Airborne Paratroopers from 1960 to 1963. He was a welder for Art Iron Company from which he retired. He enjoyed gardening and being with his family. He loved westerns, especially Gunsmoke.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Patty, children, James L.M. Foster, Charles K. Foster, Susan K. (Greg) Harter, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a brother Jerry (Sandra) Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Foster and Dolly Wright, a brother Glendon Foster and a sister Dolly Huffman.

Visitation for James will be 3 to 6 pm Sunday March 26, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Monday March 27, 2023 at Olive West Cemetery, Elkhart, IN. with full military honors.
