James Gregory Hughes

J. Gregory (Hugo) Hughes, 54 of Pendleton, OR, formerly of Elkhart passed away, Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Pendleton.

Greg was born on Aug. 11, 1960 in Elkhart to Mary Ellen Hughes and the late Wilfred G. Hughes. He was a loving father to two children, son, Justin Hughes and daughter, Jessica (Cedric) Rainey. He is survived by three siblings, Sybil (Steve) Dygert, Jason (Joann) Hughes and Marty Hughes. He is also survived by his former wife and mother to his children, Judy Ewald.

Greg graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School and worked for Keystone RV since 2009 in Pendleton. He was an outgoing, fun-loving man who made friends easily and quickly, and always brightened up the room the minute he walked in. He loved being around friends sharing stories, duck hunting, rebuilding cars and racing his 1957 Chevy. He will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a visitation for friends and family on Sunday, April 19th from 12 pm to 2 pm. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Immediately following will be a service given Pastor Dan Forehand from Grace Lutheran Church where Greg attended as a child. There will be a dinner at the church after the events of the day for those that wish to attend and be with the family.
