James A. "Jim" Martin

James "Jim" A. Martin, 73, died at South Bend Memorial Hospital Monday morning of natural causes. He was born May 15, 1938 in Elkhart to Myra (Gerring) and Andrew Walter Martin. He married Marcia Ann Maurer in Wakarusa, October 12, 1957.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years along with a son Bradley Deane (Kristine) Martin, grandchildren Andrew Karl Martin, Leanne Marie Martin, one sister Josephine (Robert) Baker, 2 brothers Donald (Mary) Martin, Ronald (Mary Lou) Martin and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a son Bret Allen Martin, a brother Walter A. Martin and a sister Wanda L. Neff.

Jim resided in Elkhart his entire life, attended Elkhart High School, and worked in the R.V. Industry as a foreman at Excel, and a trimmer at Esquire, Forest River and D.N.A. He enjoyed building and launching model rockets with his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed being involved with their activities. Jim will be remembered as a wonderful craftsman.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. with services at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
