James O. Super, 81, of Bristol, formerly of Elkhart, died March 31, 2010 at 4:55 pm at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born Sep. 27, 1928 to Arthur O. and Lola (Horein) Super in Battle Creek, MI. He married Margaret “Peg” Homan on March 26, 1950 in Elkhart.
She survives along with son Steven J. (Susan) Super of Goshen, granddaughters Blaire & Heidi, and brother David (Kathleen) Super of Spanish Fork, UT.
Mr. Super retired in 1986 from Whitehall Laboratories. He was an avid musician playing tenor sax in the Tony Papa and Bob Wear dance bands in the 50’s and 60’s. He formed his own band in the early 70’s called “The Super Sounds.”
Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart with private graveside services on Tuesday at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Elkhart. Rev. Larry Kurtz will officiate.
