James E. Wise

James E. Wise, 72, of Elkhart, died at 9:45 pm Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born August 4, 1938 in Elkhart to Harvey and Mildred (Wilhelm) Wise and married Shirley Funnell on October 10, 1959 in Elkhart. She survives with 3 sons, Dean Wise of Santa Rosa, CA, Dan Wise and fiancé, Kim of Goshen, and Don Wise of Elkhart; grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Danae, Darci, and Brandon; 3 sisters, Lillian May Crume and Marilyn (Ronald) Ball of Elkhart, and Marjorie (Gerry) Cripe of Ocala, FL, and a brother, Wayne (Joey) Wise of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Cecil, Arthur, LaMar, Robert and Harold Wise.

James had worked for various mobile home and RV plants and retired from Reese Products. He also was a courier for Interra Credit Union. He was a member of the Goshen Iron Horsemen for 40 years and enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle, classic cars and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Sunday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart and an hour prior to services at 11 am Monday. Reverend Ron Spyker will officiate. Burial will follow at Frame Cemetery.
