Janet "Jan" Kay Mast

Janet “Jan” Kay Mast, 68 of Elkhart, IN passed away on Saturday, March 8,2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Jan was born on August 24, 1956 to Robert and Viola “Dolly” Byington in Elkhart, IN. She married Edward Lee Mast on August 10, 1974 in Nappanee, IN.

Jan graduated from Concord High School, class of 1974. She worked for GM Distributors, Welch Packing formerly Pulp Products and in 2010 she retired from D&W INC to be the best grandmother to her granddaughter Quinn. Jan and Ed enjoyed camping at Ludington State Park in Ludington, MI. They both have musical talents from playing the guitar to Jan playing the guitar and organ. They enjoyed the musical sounds of a western swing band, “Riders in the Sky”. Jan loved animals and her family, especially her granddaughter Quinn. She will be sadly missed. “Happy Trails to You”

Jan is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Edward Mast of Elkhart, IN; granddaughter Quinn Mast; daughter-in-law Michelle Mast and Jan’s cousin Chris. Jan was preceded in death by her parents Robert Byington and Dolly Shackle, and her son Erik Mast.
