Jean Naomi Eller, 88, of Elkhart, IN, formerly of Climax, MI, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 5:15 am at Riverside Village in Elkhart.

She was born May, 3, 1921 in Kalamazoo, MI to LaVern E. and Estella Mae (Roberts) Yingling, and was raised by Ransom Myers Sr. and her mother, Estella Mae Myers. She married Harold W. “Skeet” Eller on October 5, 1940 in Kalamazoo. He died July 30, 1964. Surviving are a daughter, Norma Jean (Tom) Kershner of Union, MI; a son, Wayne B. Eller of Wyoming, MI; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Gwendolyn Williams of Portage, MI, Georgia (Stanley) Rolfe of Vickburg, MI, Joyce (Jerry) Sleeman and Audrey Martin both of Michigan; 4 brothers, Gerald Myers of Kalamazoo, Ransom (Jane) Myers Jr. of Michigan upper peninsula, Richard (Ellen) Yingling and Kenneth Yingling both of Michigan. 3 brothers preceded in death, Harold Myers, Robert Yingling and Al Yingling.

Mrs. Eller was a homemaker and a member of Order of Eastern Star, Royal Maple Leaf Chapter 291 of Climax, MI. She loved her family.

Friends may call from 7-9 pm Thursday and an hour prior to the 10:00 am funeral Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart. Reverend Ron Spyker of Jefferson Brethren Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Climax, MI.
