Jeanette E. Shinabarger

Jeanette E. Shinabarger, 67, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday evening at home. She was born March 1, 1946 in Elkhart to Warren and Isabel (Grant) Hummel. On Jan. 1, 1965 in Elkhart, she married Mark E. Shinabarger who survives along with sons, Jeff (Diana) of Carrollton, VA and Brian (Sherrill) of Elkhart, grandchildren, Ashley (Alimbuyao), Alex , Kyra, and Jordan Shinabarger, great-grandchildren, Avalynn, and Kaleb (Alimbuyao), brothers, Dale (Elsie) Hummel of Elkhart and Lee Hummel of Goshen, her mother, Isabel Hummel of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren. Friends may call from two hours prior to the 1 PM Wednesday service at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol. For more than 20 years, Jeanette owned and operated J-Mar Designs in Elkhart with her husband Mark. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, loved to knit, needlepoint and other crafts. Memorial contributions may be given to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
