Jenny L. Johnson

Jenny Johnson, 89, of Elkhart passed away at Greenleaf Health Campus after an extended illness.

Jenny was born in Lanesville, Virginia on February 6, 1927 to the late Walter Mackowicz and Elsie Mackowicz

On November 26, 1947 she married Henry W. Johnson, who preceded her in death in October 2003. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1945.

Jenny is survived by her daughters, Linda (Wolfgang) Schlenther of Brooksville Florida and Trudy (Dave) Rowe of Elkhart ; and five grandchildren: Angela Schlenther, (Mathew Fleming) Weeki Wachee FL, April Riege (Brian) Niles, MI. Alice Schlenther, Venice, FL. Jennifer King (Doug) Union, Mi. and Jodie Hernandez, Connersville IN ; and 10 great-grandchildren,

Jenny loved gardening, lively conversations, crocheting, and was an avid mushroom hunter. She was artistic, one of her favorite activities was drying and pressing flowers and making her own lovely greeting cards with them, and sharing with her family. She cared greatly for her family and was astute in teaching about the blessings of the earth. Her spirit will live on in the lives she has influenced.
Cremation will take place, arrangements being handled by Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home.
