Jerry L. Neer

Jerry L. Neer, 75 of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at the Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born Jan. 18, 1941 in Warsaw to Kenneth and Jeanette Neer. He married Rebecca Myers on Feb. 16, 1979. Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer (Travis Yoder) Neer of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marsha Neer of Goshen and Carolyn Welch of Grand Rapids, MI and a brother Roger (Marilyn) Neer of Grand Rapids, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca on July 10, 1993 and his parents.

Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war and retired from General Telephone Company as an installer after many years of service. He was an avid golfer.

Visitation for Jerry will be from 2-4 pm Wednesday, Nov. 2nd at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 4 pm. Bill Myers will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and DAV #19 following the service. He will be laid next to his wife at a later date at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
