John P. Hostetter

John P. “Jack” Hostetter, 75 of Bristol, passed away December 29, 2013 at his home.
He was born March 20, 1938 in Elkhart to Charles and Iva (Forker) Hostetter. He married Phyllis A. Myers on January 5, 1958 in Goshen. She survives with 3 daughters, Debra (Randy) Oswald and Candy Elrod both of Bristol and Cindy (Stacey) Jackson of Syracuse, IN and a son, Ron Hostetter of Michigan; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas (Jackie) Hostetter of Middlebury and Richard “Bruce” Hostetter of Elkhart and 2 sisters, Sherry VanNaty of Elkhart and Mary Lou Fair of Vandalia, MI. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Phyllis Bourn and Frances Fair and a brother, Charles Hostetter.

Jack retired as plant manager from Elkhart County Gravel. He was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church. He belonged to Nutones of South Bend, and enjoyed fishing, and working on his 1930 Model A. He loved to help his friends and spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call from 3-6 pm Thursday Jan. 2nd at the Bristol United Methodist Church where services will begin at 6 pm. Pastor Fred Stayton will officiate. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the Church or Center for Hospice Care. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral & Cremation Center is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com.
