Jose Joaquin Galicia-Esquivel

Jose Joaquin Galicia-Esquivel, 70, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away at home on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Jose was born on March 29, 1954, in Mexico City, Mexico to Jose Omar Galicia-Garcia and Graciela Esquivel-Velazquez. Jose married Teresa Elizabeth Moreno-Jimenez.

Jose worked for many years as a metallurgical engineer, in which he took immense pride. Jose always enjoyed listening to Rock n-Roll music and collected many a vinyl records. While listening to music was always fun, he also loved to dance.

Jose is survived by his children, Laura Galicia Cruz of South Bend, IN., Jose Joaquin Galicia Cruz of Mexico City, Mexico, Lizette (Julio DeJesus) Galicia Cruz of Elkhart, IN., Tamara Galicia Gomez, and Santiago Galicia Gomez; 9 Grandchildren; brother, Alfredo Guillermo Arzate Esquivel, sisters, Lucila Isabel Galicia Esquivel, Lucila Prudencia Galicia Esquivel, Margarita Alejandra Galicia Esquivel, Matilde Galicia Esquivel, Maria Eugenia Galicia Esquivel, and Maria Alma Lorena Veronica Galicia Esquivel. Jose was preceded in death by his parents Jose Omar Galicia Garcia and Graciela Esquivel Velazquez. Jose will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 3-7pm on Tuesday,  March 18, 2025, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, IN, 46514. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S Main St, Elkhart, IN 46516, where visitation will be from 11 am -12pm Online condolences may be left at www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com
