Joseph E. Thomas

Joseph E. Thomas, 58 of Elkhart, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 in his home.

He was born July 2, 1956 in Springfield, Ill to Harold E. and Joyce Y. (Phillips) Thomas. He married Julie A. Lovely on May 19, 1978 in Elkhart. She survives with a daughter, Angel Thomas, a son, Derrick (Allison Fites) Thomas and a granddaughter, Savannah Thomas all of Elkhart. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mary Rose of Ohio and Judy Sutter of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joseph graduated from Elkhart Central High School and worked for over 30 years as a van converter for Elk Automotive and Monaco Coach Co. He enjoyed meeting his friends every morning for coffee at Bristol Street Café and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 9th from 5-7 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 7 pm with Pastor Mike Cramer officiating.
