Joyce M. Botts

Joyce M. Botts, 81, of Elkhart, passed away at 5:56 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2009 at
Greencroft Healthcare Center, Goshen.

She was born January 28, 1928 in Elkhart to Walter and Bertha (McClain) Packer and married Raymond O. Botts on February 14, 1949 in Elkhart. He died on March 29, 1991. Surviving are a son, Steven (JeanneD’Arc Tousignant) Botts of Lake Worth, FL, 2 daughters, Susan (Gary) Herrington of Elkhart, and Linda Lindsay of Indianapolis, daughter-in-law, Gail Botts of Raleigh, NC, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Doris (Richard) Lavery and a brother, Robert (Betty) Packer both of Elkhart. A son, Robert R. Botts Sr., preceded in death.

Mrs. Botts retired from Elkhart Community Schools as cafeteria manager for 19 years at Brookdale Junior High. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and loved reading, art and her family. She graduated from Elkhart High School.

Friends may call from 11 am until the 1:00 pm service on Wednesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart. Reverend Larry W. Kurtz will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
