Joyce E. Wiseman

Joyce Wiseman, 64, of White Pigeon, MI died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 9:25pm at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born June 1, 1947 to James and Faunee (Vance) Godair in Griffithville, Arkansas. She married Steve Wiseman in Vistula, IN on October 18, 1980.

Steve survives along with 4 daughters, Shellie (Michael) Denning and 5 grandchildren of Elkhart, Heidi Young and 2 grandchildren of Goshen, Wendi (Chris) Nelson and 4 grandchildren of San Diego, CA and Michelle (Jason) Holmes and 4 grandchildren of Indianapolis; a son Eric (Holly) McMurphy and 3 grandchildren of Houston, TX; 1 sister Shirley (Richard) Ferguson of Beaumont, CA; a brother Gerald (Beth) Godair of Mt. Morris, MI; and her stepmother Adeline Godair of Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Joyce earned a Business Information Systems degree from Western Michigan University. She was a Uni-Serve Director for the Indiana State Teachers Association for the past 21 years. She loved animals and enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, reading and fishing.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, August 12th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514. Funeral service will be held Saturday August 13th at 11am. Rev. Thomas Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery near SR 20 and CR 19.
