Julissa Mary Murphy

Julissa Mary Murphy, 19, of Elkhart, went home to be with Jesus suddenly on September 19, 2010 at Purdue University. She was born to Sean and Sharon (Kurer) Murphy December 13, 1990 in Chicago, IL.

She is survived by her parents Sean and Sharon Murphy of Elkhart; 2 brothers Noah and Isaac, and sister Tiana, all at home; grandparents Don and Dorothy Kurer of Allenton, WI, and Dale Murphy of Colorado; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Mary Murphy.

Julissa was a 2009 graduate of Concord High School, and was a member of the Concord Marching Band color guard. She was on the Student Council and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a sophomore at Purdue University, on the Dean’s list, majoring in elementary education. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the 1:00 pm service on Friday at River Oaks Community Church, Goshen. Pastor Kelvin Smith of Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, NC will officiate. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen.
